Roman Architecture
Ancient Rome had exquisite architecture. The Romans had invented many things to help in the process of their achievement, with things such as, the arch, dome, pillars, baked brick and, cement and concrete. With these architectural tools, the Romans built great tombs, temples, and basilicas; their talents in this art doesn't end there, they fashioned roads, sewer systems, and aqueducts.
Pillars:
Pillars were one of the structures that were invented in the ancient world. The Romans made particularly unique poles. Sleek, and smooth pole topped with designed capitals, and bases. These were one of the largest architectural works to be contributed to the modern world. Aqueducts:
Aqueducts are arches built alongside one another and on top of each other. Arches are very famous for bridges and passage ways such as doors or gates. Many remains of aqueducts were found still standing to this day in places such as France. |
